An
Initiation into
Q’ero Shamanism
by
Margo Carrera
Our
planet is fast approaching critical point in our planetary
shift in consciousness. I believe everything we do to
awaken ourselves and raise our consciousness helps to propel
us forward into this shift. There has been several times on
our planet when entire civilizations have come and gone.
There was the Atlantians, the Lemurians, and the Incans, to
name a few. This time I believe we will not have to
disappear per say, in order to awaken and evolve to a higher
consciousness. Not only are we remaining here while we
evolve, but the entire planet is doing this at the same
time. This has never been done before.
There are
many places on the planet that have been activated to assist
us in this transformation process and the sacred sites of
Peru are one of them. The energy at these sites is
transformative. The Q’ero shaman, called Pagos, who live
there are known for their ability to communicate with the
Earth (Pacamama), the nature spirits (Awkikuna), and the
mountain spirits (Apus). They are experts at ritual
ceremony. Because they live high in the Andes and do not
have much contact with the outside world, they have been
able to open up their abilities to go beyond the Physical
realm and move into other dimensions. This is where we all
are heading as we begin to awaken and go beyond our 3-D
world.
In 2005, I
was first introduced to the Q’ero through a friend of mine,
James Williams, who journeyed to the high Andes to live with
them and study their ways. He later wrote a book about his
travels there called “The Andean Codex”. I spent a week
traveling with them and was in awe at their communion with
Nature and the Earth. Two years later I received an
invitation to return to receive a very high honor from
Sebastian Palgar Flores, an elder of the Q’ero and a Pago
(shaman-priest). He had been given a sign while doing a
reading, that it was time to share their hidden wisdom with
humanity. I and five others were gathered to be the first
outside of his tribe to receive an initiation on the Path of
Ayni, the path to Q’ero Shamanism.
Upon my
return to Peru in 2007 I received this sacred initiation and
it dramatically changed my life. It opened up channels of
communication with Pachamama, the Apus, the Awkikuna, in a
profound way that remains with me to this day. I began to
see how very important it is that humanity stay in
connection with the Earth and how we have lost that
connection somewhere within our busy lives. It is costing
us our lives, and the life of other creatures that live on
the planet. It is endangering the life of the planet
itself, although She states that She can take care of
herself and is beginning to do that in her own shift.
In October
2008, I will lead a group to Peru with International
Spiritual teacher, Mirabai Devi, and James Williams, along
with Sebastian. To read more about the journey go to
www.WholisticHealth.net and click on Events. You can
also read about my last trip to Peru by clicking on Articles
and reading, The Story of the Stone. But more importantly
please reconnect with and give gratitude to Mother Earth for
all that she has given.
