Located in Tulare County, the Porterville Chamber of Commerce welcomes visitors from all over the country and from around the world to come and experience Porterville as part of the Sequoia Valley region. Locally known as the “Orange Belt of California”, Porterville is an agricultural destination that boasts a warm country-town charm, and a quaint historic downtown district that features art galleries, fine dining, trendy shops and boutiques. Located just a few miles from Lake Success, Porterville is the gateway to the giant Sequoia’s - the Sequoia National Forest, Sequoia National Monument,  and the Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks. Outdoor enthusiasts will find a plethora of opportunities in the greater Porterville region including numerous gardens, parks and nature trails; golf and tennis; biking and hiking; sports facilities; and more. Porterville is also home to a number of civic and community centers; community events, gatherings, and festivals. Visual and performing arts thrive with cultural programs, concerts and theatre performances. A historic community, there are plenty of historic landmarks and sites to see including the Porterville Historic Museum and the Zalud House.

People Promoting Business for the Benefit of the Community – Porterville is located in Tulare County and is home to a diverse population of 51,000. Celebrating over 100 years of promoting business and community, the Porterville Chamber of Commerce boasts a membership of over 550 businesses, representing over 14,000 employees. The Chamber promotes the community and a strong local economy, while also serving as an advocate for business, while working for the continued betterment of Porterville’s quality of life. ‘People Promoting Business for the Benefit of the Community’ has long been a mission of the Chamber as it follows ‘Four Core Competencies’ which include – creating a strong local economy; promoting the community; providing networking opportunities; and representing the interests of business with government.

The Porterville Chamber of Commerce is host to a number of community events and festivals including the Annual Iris Festival; Christmas Parade; and the Spring & Fall Music on Main Street Concert Series. Porterville celebrates the holiday season with a community Christmas Parade.

APRIL 2009

Apr. 25: Iris Festival:
The Iris Festival is a combination of activities occurring in both downtown Porterville and Sutton's Iris Gardens (located a short distance from downtown). Saturday's events will include tours of Sutton's Iris Gardens. Free shuttle service will be provided between Main Street and Sutton's. A craft show, antique faire, food booths, children's area, entertainment, art show, and many other activities will be happening downtown. In all, there will be something for everyone! There is no charge for attending the Iris Festival at either location, so bring the family and enjoy this spring celebration and "Porterville in Bloom".
