DANCE SCHOOL EXPANDS TO SERVE
COMMUNITY BETTER

The Art/Dance Academy has its curriculum to offer more diverse programs and convenient class times to all residents of North County. According to School Director Assaf, the school has grown faster than anticipated since opening in 1997. The fast growth is due to the dedication of providing convenient top quality instruction to its students. Every year the school has added more members to its teaching staff and upgraded it facilities by such things as new space and regularly upgrading the facilities. In September 2003 started classes in its present location.

Expanded classes saves time for busy families

School Director Assaf says that many of the students choose the school because in addition to having excellent teachers and programs it provides all forms of dance for all ages. The school has many evening and weekend classes to accommodate students. Between the pressures of homework for children, work schedules for adults, sports and family time, people can feel overwhelmed trying to fit in all activities. Assaf says that many parents and kids are so busy tying to save time commuting so a convenient location and schedule for all is imperative.

New Staff

Art/Dance Academy has added new teachers to its staff this fall. Educationally people are very impressed with the staff. All teachers are certified in their chosen field.

Large Variety of Dance, Music and Language Classes

The school's dance program offers everything from ethnic dance styles for all ages including Middle Eastern/Belly Dance, Flamenco, Salsa and Ballroom. It also offers ballet at all levels for all ages. Classes are offered for all levels at all ages from a toddler to a senior citizen. The school also offers a musical theater program. Children's classes run from toddlers tumbling to ballet, jazz and tap.

The school also offers Middle Eastern drumming and is expanding into offering guitar and keyboard. Along with all of this there Arabic languages courses offered in both oral and written communication.

Facilities Offer Extra Benefits for Dancers

One of the most important features of the dance studio is the type of flooring used. The Art/Dance Academy flooring in both studios is a floating birch floor which have hundreds of compressed foam blocks under the surface to absorb the impact of dancing and help keep the students and teachers energized. It is also a great form of injury avoidance. Unlike most dance studios that mount their mirrors 8-12 inches off the ground, the studios mirrors are complete from floor up. This allows students to observe their movements more easily. The studio is fully air conditioned for comfort, if needed. There is a huge parking lot.

Students are encouraged to have fun while expanding their skills and knowledge artistically, creatively and culturally.

Due to the growth and expansion of teaching times, additional staff and additional classes Art/Dance Academy will be accepting new registrations now and throughout the year. For more information contact the school at 760-757-4470 or visit them at www.DancerAndDrummer.com for helpful information on getting started on dance, music or Arabic language lessons.
