David Brewer, Pete Haworth, Stu Mason and John Weed got together in the Santa Cruz, California area in 2000. A local pub was searching for a band to play their St. Patrick's Day night and these four got together for one performance. Some months later the arrangement became permanent and Molly's Revenge Celtic Music Band was formed. The
band's rousing vocals along with their hard driving rhythm and superb
musicianship, brings the best of Celtic music to their audiences at
festivals, Highland Games and private concerts.
David Brewer, who moved from Oregon to the Santa Cruz area, is a
multi-talented wood wind musician. The standing joke in the band is "If
something stays still too long , David will find a way to play it."
David plays
Scottish Highland
bagpipes, uilleann pipes, Irish Bagpipes, the penny whistle
bodhran, mandolin, and guitar. He is an enthusiastic collector of
musical instruments. Molly's Revenge has toured through parts of the USA, China and Australia, to the delight of all the audiences. They appeal to audiences of all ages, and even do some school programs. In Shanghai, they were asked to learn and perform a Chinese song, which they did, astounding the Chinese audience with their version of a traditional Chinese song. The band is currently working on a new CD, to be produced by John Doyle and released in the early part of 2008.
