About Minden, Nevada
Sitting at 4,700 feet above sea level at the bottom of the eastern slopes of the Sierra Mountains, Minden is home to 3,234 residents who enjoy the mild climate the features about 2.5 inches of snow and only about an inch of rain per year. Minden is located just 45 miles from Reno, and only 20 minutes from Tahoe in the Carson Valley region of Nevada, in Douglas County. Minden combines its rural small town charm, lush farmland, a low crime rate, and world class skiing nicely in this community. Add this to the above average state scholastic test scores achieved in the state, Minden presents a good quality of life to raise a family.

Pairing up with neighboring Gardnerville, the area is referred to as Nevada’s garden spot, and has created one of the richest agricultural regions in the state. The community has grown so quickly that it has been named the county seat of Douglas County.
