Just 28 miles from the Petrified Forest National Park, on the famous Route 66 going through the center of town, makes the frontier town of Holbrook an ideal place to start your trip through the Navajo, Hopi, and Apache country. The spectacular beauty and spirituality of these Indian Nations appeals to all travelers curiosities. Attractions like the Painted Desert, the Grand Canyon, the Mogollon Rim, Meteor Crater, and many others are a must to visit while in the area. From Gallup, NM: Head west on I-40 to Holbrook.
From Flagstaff, AZ: Head east on I-40 to Holbrook.
From Phoenix, AZ: Head north on I-17 to Flagstaff, then east on I-40 to Holbrook.
From Kingman, AZ: Head east on I-40 to Holbrook.
From Show Low, AZ: Head north on Rte. 77 to Holbrook.
To Petrified Forest National Park – Painted Forest entrance: Head east from Holbrook on I-40 for about 26 miles, and follow signs to park.
To Petrified Forest National Park – Crystal Forest entrance: Head east on Hwy. 180 for about 19 miles, and follow signs to the park.
