Visalia Home Expo:
Visalia Convention Center
Sept.
25: 15th Annual Waiters Race:
Held in Downtown Visalia with the
race starting at 5:45 pm. The city will
close off its Main Street for the ¼ mile
waiter’s track. Racers will wear their
work uniforms with the exception of
running shoes. The full services men
and women brackets will carry a tray
with two wine glasses filled with wine
together with a wine bottle. The quick
service guys and gals will have a burger
clamshell and two plastic cups filled
with soda on a tray. Both must make the
¼ mile with all items still on the tray.
The fun starts when a glass breaks or
when the runner nearing the finish line
has a slip of the hand and loses the
opportunity for the $1000.00 grand
