About Eagar, Arizona 
The 4,200 people of Eagar reside at an elevation of 7,000 feet, in the White Mountains area of northeast Arizona. A homesteading community since the late 1800’s, today, the adjoining 2 million acres of the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest has made Eagar a popular tourist destination with the many lakes and pristine trout streams available. A four season getaway, spring brings warm weather, the summer months bring exceptional hiking and fishing, autumn offers beautiful fall colors, while the winters afford sledding and skiing in this White Mountain area. Eagar is located near the San Carlos Apache Indian Reservation, the Zuni Indian Reservation, and the Navajo Nation. The region offers a wide range of dining and lodging options to suite all needs.

From Eagar, it’s just a 4 hour drive to Flagstaff, as well as a four hour drive to Phoenix which boasts a scenic route through the tall pines and majestic views of the Mogollon Rim. Eagar is only 18 miles west of the New Mexico border. It is approximately 8- miles to Interstate 40, traveling north through St. Johns. The neighboring community of Springerville, is just 2 miles away.
