The Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA) is home to more endangered species than any other National Park in continental North America. The 2008 GGNRA Endangered Species Big Year is a race against time to observe each of the 33 endangered and threatened species found within the park’s area, while taking 33 discrete conservation recovery actions that will prevent these species from going extinct. Brent Plater, Executive Director of the GGNRA 2008 Endangered Species Big Year Program, will join us to talk about the different endangered species, and will explain how we can all get involved in this critically important program. Lavender season is here and Rosemary ‘The Lavender Lady’ will be joining us talk all about Lavender and its many uses. As seen on “California Heartland” and “Gardening by the Yard”, artists and husband-and-wife team Rosemary Nightingale and Tim Friesen enjoy sharing their beautiful herb and lavender gardens with visitors, and give group and individual tours that offer guests an informative, yet fun and interactive guided tour through the gardens; herbal recipe and remedy demonstrations; and delicious culinary refreshments. Nestled in the heart of Central California, near the Kings Canyon, Sequoia and Yosemite National Parks, Squaw Valley Herb Gardens is an ideal summer destination. Read more.

Johnny Mastro & Mama’s Boys
There’s no frills attached when it comes to this hard driving blues explosion from Southern California called ‘Johnny Mastro & Mama’s Boys’. We’re talking the real deal when it comes to the blues. They reek with the pure essence of blues – deep and low down, raw and dirty, full throttle energy – and all with no shame. They serve up the kind of blues that will tempt and seduce you, rip your shoes off your feet, and then send ya home crying to your Mama! We’re going to play some of their tunes off their latest album ‘Take Me to Your Maker’, and then catch up with blues harp sensation and front-man Johnny Mastro about the bands recent European tours, their local Southern California summer gigs, and all of their latest news.

Our Mission: Our Mission: "Big Blend Magazine is a company based on the belief that education is the most formidable weapon that can be waged against fear, ignorance and prejudice.
It is our belief that education starts at home and branches outward. Our company is further based on the principle that networking, communication, and helping others to promote and market themselves leads to financial stability; thus paving the way to better education, travel, and the spirit of giving back to the community."
