Mayo
- Curator Emeritus in Women’s History from the Smithsonian’s
National Museum of American History in Washington DC where
she re-conceptualized the First Ladies exhibit, taking it
from being about all about their gowns and china to
showcasing contributions of the women made in society. At
the National Museum of American History, she actively
collected for the Museum’s holdings in women’s history,
politics, civil rights, and voting rights, and strongly
advocated the importance of 20th century collecting in
museums. Edie was elected several times to the National
Council of the American Studies Association. She taught
Material Culture in a jointly-sponsored course for the
Smithsonian Institution and American Studies Dept. at The
George Washington University. She lectures widely on women’s
history and the First Ladies and serves as a Distinguished
Lecturer for the Organization of American Historians. With
it being President’s Day Weekend, we are excited to have her
come on the show to talk about three of the First Ladies
that had an impact in the Southwest USA - Claudia "Lady
Bird" Johnson, Elizabeth "Betty" Ford, and Nancy Davis

Angelo
Joaquin Jr.
– Angelo is the coordinator of the Arizona State Museum’s
signature event – the 14th Annual Southwest Indian Art Fair,
which is scheduled for February 23 and 24, 2008. The fair
brings 200 major artists from around the region to show and
sell their wares on the campus of the University of Arizona,
in Tucson, Arizona. Visitors will enjoy talking with the
artists, learning from Native experts, watching
demonstrations, sampling Native foods, and listening to
musical performances.

Julie
Evans
– Julie Evans is the Director of Marketing & Operations for
the non-profit organization, Native Seeds/SEARCH, in Tucson,
Arizona. They preserve the crop seeds that connect Native
American cultures to their lands. Through seed conservation
and community interaction, Native Seeds works to protect
crop biodiversity and to celebrate cultural diversity. The
organization’s Seedbank houses, for future generations, the
seeds of crops and wild plants traditionally used as food,
fiber and dyes by prehistoric and more recent cultures
inhabiting the arid southwestern U.S. and northwestern
Mexico.

Bobbi
DePorter – Bobbi is the president of Quantum
Learning Network, a U.S.-based educational firm producing
programs for students, teachers, schools, and organizations
across the United States and worldwide. Bobbi was an early
pioneer in the applications of accelerated learning. After
studying with Dr. Georgi Lozanov, she co-founded a highly

Merle
Exit
– Journalist and host of the blogtalkradio show ‘Whirl with
Merle,’ Merle will be on the show to talk about women's
tackle football. There are three women's tackle football
leagues in the country, with the IWFL having over 40 teams
at present. Teams in the Southwest area include: California
Quake, Tucson Monsoon, Las Vegas Showgirlz; Southern
California and New Mexico Menace. There is also the IWFL
Women’s Football Hall of Fame – a permanent exhibit.

Harold
Roy Miller
– Cowboy Poet and Horse Man, Harold Roy Miller will be on the show to
discuss his poetry, his book ‘Horse Daze – A Lighter Look at Cowboys &
Horses,’ and his love of horses. Born in Mississippi, raised in Arizona,
Harold now lives in Stagecoach, Nevada, with his wife Diana. They raise
gaited horses ‘for fun and poverty’ and are advocates of Nevada’s wild
horses. Harold’s poetry has been published in numerous magazines, websites
and publications.
