Terry Ommen talked about the outlaws connected with Tulare
County, Central California; wild west author Robert Michael Wilson
talked about his new book ‘Wells Fargo Report of
Losses from Stagecoach and Train Robbers, 1870 to 1884’; western
author Sherry Monahan discussed her book ‘Taste of Tombstone’
which was just re-released; and southwestern author Jan Cleere talked about her book ‘Outlaw Tales of Arizona: True
Stories of Arizona's Most Famous Robbers, Rustlers, and Bandits’.

Terry
Ommen – Tulare Historical Society
Terry Ommen from Visalia in Central California, will join us to talk
about Tulare County’s connection with outlaws such as Grat Dalton
and the Dalton Gang, Christopher Evans, Tiburcio Vasquez, Black
Bart, and Jim McKinney. Born in Slayton, Minnesota and raised in
California, Terry Ommen enlisted in the United States Army and
served as a Military Police Officer in foreign and stateside
assignments. After his enlistment period, her received an AA degree
from El Camino College, then transferred to Long Beach State where
he received a Bachelor’s Degree in criminology. He worked as a
police officer with Manhattan Beach, California, Police Department.
In 1972, Terry and his wife moved to Visalia, where he worked with
the Visalia Police Department. While there, he earned his Master’s
Degree from Chapman University. He worked with the VPD for 25 years,
retiring as a Police Captain in 1997. Terry has a strong interest in
Visalia and Tulare County history, and has been a member of the
Visalia Heritage organization for many years. He was the president
of the Tulare County Historical Society and continues to serve on
the Board of Directors of that organization. Terry is also a
freelance writer, focusing on local Tulare County history topics,
and currently writes a local regular history column for the Fresno
Bee newspaper. To hear the

Robert
Michael Wilson – Author of Wild West Tales
Robert Michael Wilson will join us to discuss his latest book,
‘Wells Fargo Report of Losses from Stagecoach and Train Robbers,
1870 to 1884’; 125th Anniversary edition.
A retired law
enforcement officer, Robert Michael Wilson has turned his expertise
to examining stories and incidences that occurred during the "old
west" time period. He has a penchant for the truth, making sure that
what he writes is factual--at the same time, he has the knack of
bringing the old west characters to life. Wilson's books include Drenched
in Blood, Rigid in Death; the true story of the Wickenburg massacre;
Tragic Jack; the true story of Arizona Pioneer John William
Swilling; Encyclopedia of Stagecoach Robbery in Arizona; Crime &
Punishment in Early Arizona; Murder & Execution in the Wild West;
Great Stagecoach Robberies of the Old West; Great Train Robberies of
the Old West; Frontier Justice in the Wild West; Bungled, Bizarre
and Fascinating Executions; and Encyclopedia of Stagecoach Robbery
in Nevada. In addition to his books, he has also written numerous
articles for various publications, including Old West magazine--and
appeared on the History Channel production, Massacres, as an old

Sherry
Monahan – Western Author
Sherry Monahan will join us to talk about her book ‘Taste of
Tombstone’ which was published in 1998, and received two 1999 Glyph
Awards from the Arizona Book Publisher’s Association. Featuring a
new cover and updated information, ‘Taste of Tombstone’ was just
re-released by the University of NM Press. Ms. Monahan first began
writing about the Wild West after she became enchanted with
Tombstone in 1993. Being in Tombstone transferred her back in time
to the wild days of the 1880s. She is also the author of
‘Tombstone's Treasure: Silver Mines & Golden Saloons’; ‘The Wicked
West: Boozers, Cruisers, Gamblers and More’; ‘Pikes Peak:
Adventurers, Communities & Lifestyles’ which received the 2002 AASLH
Finalist Award; ‘Self-Guided Walking Tour of Tombstone’. She is the
contributing editor for True West Magazine; 2007 & 2008 VP-Marketing
- Women Writing the West; and the Historical Consultant for the
movie "The Territory”. You can catch her on the 2007 Lost Worlds
episode called, Sin City of the West on the History Channel. She's
appeared on the Wild West Tech series in the Gold Rush Tech and
Gambling Tech shows. You can also catch her in the Investigating

Jan
Cleere – Southwestern Author
Author Jan Cleere will return as a guest on our show to talk about
her book ‘Outlaw Tales of Arizona: True Stories of Arizona's Most
Famous Robbers, Rustlers, and Bandits’, which was recognized
nationally in 2007 as winner of the National Federation of Press
Women's literary competition for historical nonfiction. Jan writes
extensively about the desert southwest, its unique characters,
creatures, and vegetation. Also a freelance writer, her work appears
in numerous regional publications such as Arizona Highways Magazine,
Chronicle of the Old West, and more. Jan’s first book, ‘More Than
Petticoats: Remarkable Nevada Women’, was a 2006 WILLA Literary
Award finalist, and a 2006 Arizona Press Women's literary
competition finalist. The Nevada Women's History Project elected Jan
to its Roll of Honor for "her significant contribution in the
preservation of Nevada's women history." She has just released her
third book ‘Amazing Girls of Arizona: True Stories of Young
