Overview
Cities/Towns & Counties in this Region
Overview
Home to three national
parks, The High Sierra offers the finest of American wilderness. Thanks
to the literary contributions of John Muir and Mark Twain, and the
awesome photographs of Ansel Adams, we are all at least a little
familiar with this beautiful region. The High Sierra is home to natural
wonders such as the world's largest living thing - the sequoia and the
world's oldest living thing - the bristle cone pine. From the depths of
Yosemite Valley to the shores of Lake Tahoe, and to the snow paradise of
Mammoth Mountain, this is a perfect destination for the outdoor
enthusiast. The area has great outdoor activities such as hiking and
camping, mountaineering, snow skiing and snow boarding, boating and
fishing.
