Overview:
The lure of the West and GOLD! Since
1848 the gold country of California has beckoned. This region encompasses
the counties of Amador, Butte, Calaveras, El Dorado, Grass Valley/Nevada,
Madera, Mariposa, Placcer, Sacramento, Sierra, Tuolumne and Yosemite
National Park. From white-water rafting to caving, excellent skiing to
horseback tours, discovering the old west and the thrill of the gold
mining days is still very much alive. Railroads, mines, wineries, camping,
scenic hikes and drives, and lets not leave out prospecting...geologists
estimate 70 percent of California's gold is still waiting to be found!
This region definitely has something for everyone to enjoy. It is
especially great for family vacations.
