Dramatic Borrego Springs
The small, no traffic-hassles, town of Borrego Springs sits at the feet of Indian Head Peak and is surrounded by beautiful craggy mountains. During spring, this area can become a carpet of blossoms and this spring promises to be a great season. Besides the display of wildflowers and flowering cacti and ocotillo, the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park is one of the few places you can spot the elusive Peninsular Big Horn Sheep. This is a marvelous place to rejuvenate and experience the wonders of the desert. You can hike, cycle, horse-back ride, or drive through the park. The silence, only broken by natural sounds, is almost a shock to city dwellers. Walking through this wonderland is when you really start to realize just how much modern day living puts stress on your senses, and just how much you need to re-connect with nature. Borrego Springs has several luxurious places to stay, fascinating shops and all the services you would want to make your stay a good one. When you are though investigating the natural-side for the day, make sure you take time to wander through The Mall and The Center. Both malls have shops, galleries and restaurants. And don’t forget this is a premier destination for tennis lovers and golfers. Sitting beside a pool in the sun is another favorite activity as is taking part is some of the spa treatments available. All in all, this is a perfect place to spend a vacation, special event, romantic getaway or weekend retreat.
