History & Heritage
Coronado Trail Scenic Byway: America's first federal highway, the Coronado Trail Scenic Byway is a beautiful 120 mile drive along Arizona Highway 191 between Springerville and Clifton, leading you along the eastern edge of the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest.

Nature & Outdoor Recreation
Apache & Sitgreaves National Forests: The forests encompass two million acres located along the Mogollon Rim and in the White Mountains of east-central Arizona. On the Sitgreaves, the major attractions include 8 cold water lakes, and the 7,600 foot Mogollon Rim which extends 200 miles from Flagstaff into Western New Mexico. The Apache National Forest ranges in elevation from 3,500 feet to nearly 11,500 feet and is named for the tribes that settled in this area. Visitors enjoy camping, biking, hiking, wildlife viewing and more. For Details – Click here.

Escudilla Wilderness: Located just 12 miles from Alpine in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests, the Escudilla Wilderness features 5,200 acres atop Arizona's third highest peak, Escudilla Mountain at 10,912 feet. There is the Escudilla Trail to explore, that will lead you to the Escudilla Lookout. For Details – Click here.

Sipe White Mountain Wildlife Area: Featuring 1,362-acres, the Sipe White Mountain Wildlife Area is surrounded by the Apache National Forest, and his home to eagles, osprey, deer, elk, turkey, antelope, waterfowl, and more. It is a popular wildlife viewing, bird watching and hiking destination. There is a small visitor center, a series of hiking trails complete with interpretive signage and wildlife viewing sites, and a day-use picnic area. The four hiking trails travel through wetlands, meadows, old homesteads and scenic vistas, and range from easy to moderate. For details - Click here.
